Born Malaysia 1940 Brought up and educated in the UK until 1957 (Wellington College, Berkshire) To Australia with parents and to Adelaide University: Architect in 1962 Postgraduate study at University of Liverpool UK. Master of Architecture 1965 Postgraduate study at University of Sydney, Aust. Diploma of Town and Country Planning in 1972 Worked as an Architect for 10 years, then 10 years as an Architect/Town Planner and the last 10 years in dispute resolution.
Interested in photography, history of technology and writing. Also involved in radio communications and a member of the Wireless Institute of Australia WIA since 1975, the Australian Amateur Packet Radio Association since 1995 and the Historic Radio Society of Australia since 1988. Collects representative radio and associated artifacts from all periods of the last 100 years.
A regular contributor to Electronics Australia on a variety of technical and historical subjects. Has also been published in Radio Bygones, UK . Author of "Early Radio - In Marconi's footsteps" Published by Kangaroo Press 1994
Currently President of the Australasian Communications and Computer Association Ltd (ACCA) and immediate past President of the New South Wales Division of the Wireless Institute of Australia. Previously President of the Sydney Progressive Amateur Radio Club (SPARC) prior to its amalgamation with the Australasian Microcomputer Users Society (AMUS) to form the ACCA.
Has been an Radio Amateur since 1975 and a keen microcomputer constructer, user and owner since 1979. Holds the Australian call sign VK2AQJ and the British call sign G4GZT. Listens on 14.180 megaHertz from time to time and is available "skeds" on this frequency.
Lives in Sydney, Australia with wife: Has two daughters.
